Add and change sites
Add a static, PHP, or WordPress website, then review the proposed changes before applying. Point the domain and aliases at RackNerd with your DNS provider. DNS and email stay with their existing providers.
New PHP sites receive separate ownership and a PHP pool. WordPress provisioning installs WordPress and its dedicated database before exposing the website. Generated administrator and database credentials stay in a private server file; no setup email is sent. The operation result identifies the credential file and document root. Use your existing SSH or deployment workflow to publish files.
SSL and automatic renewal
Each site shows whether HTTPS is enabled, the installed certificate's status, expiry and covered domains, and whether Certbot renewal is configured and its timer is active. A running timer means renewal is scheduled; it does not prove the next renewal will succeed. The latest Certbot result applies to the server-wide service.
Request a certificate after DNS reaches this server. Refresh details after making DNS or certificate changes, and check the recorded observation time.
Backups and downloads
Backups run daily and retain one daily, one weekly, and one monthly restore point on the offsite destination. The daily point advances each day, the weekly point on the first run after Sunday at midnight, and the monthly point on the first run after the 1st at midnight, using Toronto time.
Back up now runs a fresh server backup and checks coverage for the selected website; other registered websites are included. Prepare download creates a private website archive with a temporary authenticated download link in the operation result. You can download a copy before returning to Archive or Delete. Preparing a download never starts removal automatically.
Coverage includes registered website files and database dumps. Initial weekly and monthly points are created on the first run; read their actual dates rather than assuming older coverage. A successful backup replaces the older point in its own category; a failed run preserves the last good point. Restore verification applies to the identified snapshot, with its recorded result and check time.
Suspend, archive, and delete
Suspend temporarily disables a website; resume enables it again. Archive disables access while preserving files and databases. Delete permanently removes the reviewed website resources after a fresh successful encrypted offsite backup. Archived websites can also be deleted.
Deletion lists the exact resources to remove and keep, requires the full website address and a permanent deletion acknowledgement, and records the backup snapshot and cleanup results. Backups eventually age out under the normal retention policy. There is no one-click undo; recovery uses a retained backup. If deletion fails partway, review the results and a new deletion plan before retrying.
Shared services, analytics history, and other websites are preserved. Preview addresses include their full path. Moving JerPro to its own domain requires creating its new vhost and a reviewed content move.
Databases and logs
The details view records the assigned local MySQL database and its measured size. Add a database where the site supports it. Database passwords are kept on the server and are never rendered here.
Recent error logs and operation results help diagnose failures. These are bounded excerpts collected when requested, not a live log stream.
AI and SSH access
AI tools use the same structured plan, apply, and job operations through the SSH CLI, with existing authorized SSH access. The browser uses your signed-in session. Every change is reviewed as a plan, checked against the current revision, and recorded as a job.
Use the hosting runbook in Notes for the CLI command, backup destination, restore steps, and recovery procedures. Keep credentials out of notes, prompts, and operation settings.
